Solar Farm Access Road

Smith Civil delivered a new access road for a solar farm development in Coleambally, NSW, built to support both construction and ongoing operational traffic.
The scope included construction of the main access road along with dedicated light and heavy vehicle turnaround areas, designed for reliable all-weather performance. 900 tonnes of material were placed and compacted in just 5 days, a fast-tracked program that minimised delays and kept the broader solar farm construction schedule on track.
AWTS, Drainage & Filtration Package
Charlton, VICÂ
Smith Civil recently completed a multi-scope civil and plumbing package in Charlton, Victoria, delivered and handed over in just four days.
The scope included supply and installation of an Aerated Wastewater Treatment System (AWTS), aerial drainage works, a stormwater system, pump and whole-house filtration system. Coordinating earthworks, drainage, and plumbing trades within a single tight program allowed the full package to be completed efficiently without compromising on quality.

Driveway Culvert Installation — Drainage Channel Crossing
Griffith, NSW
Smith Civil completed a driveway culvert installation for a Griffith-based business, providing a compliant crossing over an existing drainage channel.
The scope included excavation and preparation of the channel crossing, supply and installation of a 600mm diameter culvert pipe with headwall, and backfill and compaction to support the finished driveway. Works were completed on a tight one-week program, taking the site from initial excavation through to handover ready for the concrete pour.
Fire Tank Hardstand
Coleambally, NSW
Smith Civil delivered a fire tank hardstand in Coleambally, NSW, managing every stage of the project in-house from earthworks through to the finished concrete pour.
The scope began with stripping 600mm of existing soil, followed by rebuilding the subgrade with DGB20 to create a stable base capable of supporting the tank load. The hardstand was finished with 250m² of concrete (80m³), poured to provide a durable, long-term surface.
The project demonstrates Smith Civil's end-to-end capability — from bulk earthworks through subgrade preparation to concrete finishing — delivered by a single team without the need to coordinate multiple subcontractors.
Topsoil Placement & Site Preparation
Griffith, NSW
Smith Civil recently completed a topsoil placement and site preparation package for a local Griffith client, laying the groundwork for successful revegetation.
The scope included placement and trimming of 100m³ of topsoil across the site, finished to a consistent, even profile. The area was levelled and prepped ready for hydroseeding, ensuring the best possible conditions for new growth to establish.
